Gavin Whapshare, DO, Medical Director
Born in London, Gavin Whapshare DO is board-certified in family medicine, and provides primary care services to all ages, from children to adults. He handles everything from chronic disease management and preventive health checks to sick visits, pediatric checkups, and back-to-school physicals.
Gavin brings his relentless sense of humor, a passion for personalized care, and an unmatched dedication to quality to Guardian Health. As the Medical Director, Dr. Whapshare serves as the clinical leader of the organization and is proud to help our team in its mission to provide the Venice, Florida, community with unmatched, provider-led healthcare.
Sherry Rogers, APRN
Sherry Rogers, APRN, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Guardian Health, having served the Venice and Englewood communities for over 10 years. Sherry has built a loyal following among her patients thanks to her compassion, timeliness, and expertise. She handles all aspects of care providing women’s health in addition to chronic disease management and sick visits.

Sara Popovich, Physician Assistant
Sara Popovich is a board-certified Physician Assistant who has been practicing for 20 years. Originally from Virginia, she attended College of William and Mary and Virginia Commonwealth University for her BS in biology and obtained her Master’s in Physician Assistant studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School. She worked for several years in general and advanced laparoscopic surgery, specifically bariatric surgery, and then Internal Medicine and pediatrics before locating to Florida. In 2012, she moved to Florida to be closer to family, focusing on dermatology and internal medicine. Her focus is on the overall wellness and personalized care of her patients. Being a PA has afforded her the opportunity to conform her career choices with the best interests of her family, which is reflected in her care of patients of all ages.
She is honored to have joined Guardian Health, continuing to provide patient-centered care with the medical model provided by Dr. Whapshare and associates. We all work together to enhance our patient outcomes. We welcome you to our practice.
